Fulton County Works to Protect Seniors from Housing Scams | Print |

The Fulton County Department of Community Development, in collaboration with the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, will host a Housing Information Session, Guarding Against Housing Scams, Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.   The session will be held in the South Service Center located at 5600 Stonewall Tell Road, College Park, GA   30349.   Legal Aid will provide information to help homeowners prevent and report fraudulent and deceptive schemes with a focus on how to avoid Con Artists who often target seniors because of their savings, home ownership and/or excellent credit.

Discussions will also focus on the availability of  minor rehabilitation assistance through Fulton County’s Housing Rehabilitation Program for low to moderate income homeowners. Participants will learn how to qualify for assistance.   Additionally, seniors will learn of available property tax exemptions that can help them with their tax bills.
