Fulton County State of Seniors Symposium to Hear from Seniors about Their Needs | Print |

Fulton County Housing and Human Services, Office of Aging will host a State of Seniors Symposium to hear from Seniors about their needs to age in place, and to remain healthy, vibrant and safe.   The symposium will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 10:00 a.m until 12:00 p.m. at the Harriett G. Darnell Senior Multipurpose Facility located at 677 Fairburn Road.

Fulton County Residents Can Take Advantage of the Making Home Affordable Program on June 1 and 2 | Print |

Opportunities available to meet with banks regarding mortgage modifications

The Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) in Fulton County will be the next stop for the Making Home Affordable program.  County residents can take advantage of the event on Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2, 2012, to meet with their banks in an effort to save their homes from foreclosure.  The event will run from 1:00 pm - 8:00 p.m. on June 1, and from 9:00 am - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2.  The GICC is located at 2000 Convention Center Concourse in College Park, GA 30337.  The event is sponsored by the Making Home Affordable Program.

Fulton Water Resources Invites Residents to Public Meeting Regarding Alpharetta Water Transmission Main Project | Print |

Fulton County Department of Water Resources invites residents to an upcoming public meeting on Thursday, May 17, 2012, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Staff will  provide residents with an update regarding the Alpharetta Water Transmission Main capital improvement project.  

The meeting will be held in the Clubhouse of the Glen Abbey Subdivision, located at 3600 Grey Abbey Drive in Alpharetta, Georgia, 30022.
The Alpharetta Water Transmission Main involves the installation of approximately 7 miles of water mains and ancillaries in the cities of Alpharetta and Johns Creek.  The new Transmission pipeline will begin at the intersection of Jones Bridge Road and Buice Road, and will terminate at Mayfield Road in downtown Alpharetta.

Fulton County Commissioner William “Bill” Edwards, District 7, will host his Second Quarter “Community Listening Session” on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

The public is invited to voice their comments about Fulton County services in South Fulton. 

All citizens, including youth, are urged to participate in the session, which will be held in the South Fulton Government Service Center Auditorium, located at 5600 Stonewall Tell Road in College Park, Georgia.

Many more have mental problems.  May is National Mental Health Month and the Fulton County Health Services’ Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities promotes Mental Health Awareness by providing residents with information regarding mental health disorders, resources and available treatment options.

Fulton County’s State & Magistrate Courts, along with the Fulton County Solicitor’s Office, are joining legal organizations across Georgia in a food drive to support efforts to feed 1.6 million Georgians going without food.
