The Office of the County Auditor exists to support administration and the Board of Commissioners in the effective discharge of their responsibilities.   Using knowledge and professional judgment, the Office of the County Auditor provides an independent appraisal of the County’s financial, operational, and control activities.   The Office of the County Auditor reports on the adequacy of internal controls, the accuracy and propriety of transactions, the extent to which assets are accounted for and safeguarded, and the level of compliance with institutional policies and government laws and regulations.   Furthermore, the Office of the County Auditor assists the County in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
