The Fulton County Fire and Rescue Department invites the public to the rededication of the newly renovated Fire Station #7 (5965 Buffington Road, College Park Ga. 30349), on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 11:30 a.m.

“We encourage our citizens to come out and visit their newly renovated fire station.  We also want them to be aware of the services and programs we offer as well to know that their fire department truly believes in community-based fire protection,” said Fire Chief Larry Few.

The renovations to Fire Station # 7 included: new kitchen counters, a new commercial refrigerator, an HVAC upgrade, new siding and stonework on the exterior of the building. The approximate cost of the work was $400,000.

The rededication of Fire Station #7 also serves as the department’s kick-off event for Fire Prevention Week. This year’s theme is “Smoke Alarms: A Sound You Can Live With!”  Residents are encouraged to visit their local fire station during Fire Prevention Week to learn more about what steps they can take to prevent fires in their homes. Additional information is also available on the Fulton County website.
