Most Fulton County Facilities Closed at Noon on Monday, January 10, 2011 | Print |

Due to inclement weather and to protect the safety of citizens and employees, Fulton County Government Facilities closed at noon Monday, January 10, 2011, with the following exceptions of the Jefferson Place Shelter, the Aldredge Health Center, the Central Library, and the four Senior Multipurpose Facilities.

Facilities that remain open:

  •  Jefferson Place Shelter, 1135 Jefferson Street Northwest Atlanta, GA 30318 (Open 24 hours)
  • Central Library, One Margaret Mitchell Square, Atlanta, GA 30303 (Closing at 5 p.m. today, Tuesday, January 11)
  • Aldredge Health Center, 99 Jesse Hill Jr. Drive, Atlanta, GA 30303 (Will re-open at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, January 11 and close at 3 p.m..)

 In addition, Fulton County’s four senior multpurpose facilities will remain open until 4 p.m. today:

  • Harriett G. Darnell Senior Multipurpose Facility, 677 Fairburn Rd. NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
  • Dorothy C. Benson Senior Multipurpose Complex, 6500 Vernon Woods Drive, Atlanta, GA 30331
  • Helene S. Mills Senior Multipurpose Facility, 515 John Wesley Dobbs Ave., Atlanta, GA 30312
  • H.J.C. Bowden Senior Multipurpose Facility, 2885 Church Street, East Point, GA 30344

 Fulton County’s emergency response teams continue to work around the clock.

 Employees other than those listed above should report to work on Wednesday, January 12, 2011.

 “Our first priority is the safety and wellbeing of our citizens and the workforce. We urge all residents to stay off the roadways,” said County Manager Zachary L. Williams.

 Essential personnel assigned to the Fulton County Medical Examiner, public safety agencies, General Services, Public Works, and emergency management should check with their supervisor before leaving home.

 Employees other than those listed above should report to work on Wednesday, January 12, 2011.
