Fulton County Partners with Local High Schools for "High School Voter Registration Month" | Print |

The Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections, in partnership with all high schools in Fulton County, will participate in Georgia’s “High School Voter Registration Month.”

During the month of April, staff members from the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections will visit every high school in Fulton County to encourage all students who are eligible to register to vote.

Under Georgia law, O.C.G.A § 21-2-215(g), high school principals and assistant principals are deputy registrars who are responsible for informing students and employees of the availability of voter registration at the school. In addition, all schools must provide opportunities for students, faculty and parents to register.

Fulton County encourages all students who are eligible to register to vote.  They can register to vote by requesting and submitting a Voter Registration Application to their school office or at any of the following locations: Fulton County Government Center (141 Pryor Street, SW, Suite 4085, Atlanta), South Fulton Service Center (5600 Stonewall Tell Road, College Park), North Fulton Service Center (7741 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs), Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle driver’s license offices, all public libraries and city halls.

To register to vote, an applicant must be:
• A citizen of the United States.
• A legal resident of the county in which they register.
• At least 17 ½ years of age.
• Not serving a sentence imposed by the conviction of a felony.
• Not judicially determined to be mentally incompetent.

The Georgia Voter Registration form is also available on the Fulton County website www.fultoncountyga.gov.
