Fulton Health Inspectors Provide Training on Food Safety | Print |

The Fulton County Office of Environmental Health Service (OEHS) has been providing free training on Food Safety for food service providers for those who wish to learn more about the Georgia Code on Food Safety.  Training on the Georgia Food Code is held twice a month (once at the Georgia Restaurant Association and once at the Aldredge Health Center).   ServSafe (accreditation for food service establishment operators) is also held once a month.

Environmental Health Services has been working with the mobile food vendors as well. OEHS recently conducted a "Street Food Summit" at the Helene S. Mills Senior Multi-Purpose Facility for the vendors to educate them on Fulton County policies and to build better relationships.

Recently Food Service vendors have requested a better understanding of the Georgia Code for Food Safety and expressed concerns on how scores are given so OEHS has been conducting meetings to answer questions and address concerns. They have met with restaurants in Buckhead and hospitals located in the county to discuss the Georgia Code and receive feedback on any areas where they feel improvement is needed. OEHS plans to have more sessions such as these as well as, provide more information on the county website such as food recalls and regulation or procedural changes.  Click here for dates of future training opportunities.
