Fulton County Fire and Rescue Department Receives Grant | Print |

The Fulton County Fire and Rescue Department was awarded a $3.2 million SAFER (Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response) Grant by the Department of Homeland Security.

The grant funds will be used to sustain salary funding through 2014 for firefighters hired with the help of a previous SAFER grant award and allow the County to hire additional Fire and Rescue personnel.

“We are proud to be awarded a SAFER Grant again this year,” says Fulton County Fire Chief Larry Few, “This grant will help us continue the top notch fire service in unincorporated Fulton County that we have become known for.”

The SAFER grant application is an extensive process and Chief Few would like to acknowledge the contributions of several members of the team who were instrumental in securing the grant – Deputy Fire Chief Darnell Fullum, Chief Administrative Officer Natalie Riggs and Administrative Coordinator Reginald Smith.
