South Fulton Citizens Can Take Advantage of Free Disposal of Bulk Waste on Saturday, April 20, 2013 | Print |

Fulton County Commissioner William “Bill” Edwards, District 7 is sponsoring Bulk Waste Amnesty Day on Saturday, April 20, 2013. from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  

Bulk Waste Amnesty Days are scheduled to encourage residents to remove large waste items that tarnish the beauty of South Fulton neighborhoods.

Residents who would like to dispose of their bulky waste, can drop it off at one of the Fulton County Solid Waste Stations listed below.  In addition, residents who wish to shred documents in a secure area may visit the Merk Road location during the event.

Acceptable Bulky Trash items are: appliances, furniture, electronics, televisions, computers, keyboards, monitors, printers, auto tires (4 unmounted), latex paints, oil based paints, batteries, household chemicals, motor oil and auto products, gasoline, kerosene, fuels (small tanks), pesticide and gardening chemicals, roofing tar, photo-chemicals, aerosols and thermometers and switches.  Please note that household hazardous waste has a limit of 5 gallons per person.

Items considered Unacceptable Bulky Trash include: construction waste and demolition debris.

The Facilities and Transportation Service Department has designated the following three drop off locations for discarded items. Note that shredding is available at the Merk Road location only.
