Fulton County Police Department Celebrates National Night Out 30th Year Anniversary | Print |

The Fulton County Police Department, in partnership with Fulton County agencies and local neighborhoods are joining forces with thousands of communities across the nation to celebrate and participate in the 30th Year Anniversary of "Annual National Night Out" (NNO) a crime and drug prevention event. Fulton County residents are invited to join the Fulton County Police Department at their "National Night Out" on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., at 5495 Old National Highway, College Park, GA 30349.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime awareness and support for crime and drug prevention efforts sending a message to criminals that neighborhoods are working together and fighting back against crime. Additionally, it strengthens neighborhoods and police and community partnerships.

"Our National Night Out event is an award winning initiative and we are proud of the work done by the Fulton County Police Department to achieve this goal. Additionally, we are excited to join the in the celebration of National Night Out's 30 Year Anniversary this year. This event provides the community with an opportunity to see the scope and depth of the agency's community-oriented policing philosophy," stated Fulton County Police Chief Cassandra Jones. "The personnel of the Fulton County Police Department take personal pride in increasing awareness and strengthening involvement in anti-crime efforts, and they too share in my enthusiasm."

National Night Out participants will have the opportunity to get information on police safety and how neighbors are working together with law enforcement to make their communities safe. Other Fulton County agencies participating include; the Fulton County Sheriff's Department, Court Watch, Office of Behavioral Health Services, Health and Wellness, the Safe Kids Coalition and The Fulton County Fire Department will also be on hand for kids to enjoy and learn about fire safety. Visitors can talk to representatives from local homeowners associations, enjoy live entertainment, food and fun activities for the kids.
