Fulton County Receives Excellence in Procurement Award | Print |

The Fulton County Department of Purchasing and Contract Compliance has been awarded the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award from the National Purchasing Institute (NPI).

This is the 14th year that Fulton County has been honored by the NPI. In 2013, Fulton County earned a near-perfect score of 160 out of 165 points on its award evaluation.
Of 159 Georgia Counties, Fulton County is one of only 12 government agencies in Georgia to receive the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement.  Of all U.S. counties, only 43 counties in the United States received the recognition.

The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award recognizes innovation, professionalism, productivity, and leadership in the field of procurement. It is considered to be one of the most coveted and significant awards that can be attained by a procurement operation.

“We are thrilled that the National Purchasing Institute has once again recognized the work of the Fulton County Purchasing Department team,” said Felicia Strong-Whitaker, Interim Director Fulton County Department of Purchasing and Contract Compliance.
The National Purchasing Institute is a national, membership-based non-profit organization providing support to professionals in the public sector purchasing profession. NIP provides its members with many services including education, professional networking, research and technical assistance.
