Fulton Board Approves Sale of Greenspace to Sandy Springs for Park Expansion | Print |

During its December 4, 2013 meeting, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution sponsored by District 4 Commissioner Tom Lowe to approve the sale of 22.746 acres of greenspace to the City of Sandy Springs.  The property is located off of Old Riverside Drive.

Commissioner Lowe’s resolution indicates the Board’s acceptance of a sale price of $1,484,500.

The sale will give the city of Sandy Springs the opportunity to provide more park and greenspace along the Chattahoochee River for its citizens. The sale includes restrictions that will ensure that the land is used for passive greenspace and parkland, and cannot be developed at a future date.

“This is a beautiful piece of land and I’m glad to know that the citizens of Fulton County and Sandy Springs will be able to enjoy it in perpetuity,” said Commissioner Lowe.
