Fulton Marshal’s Department Invites Youth to Become Junior Deputies | Print |

This summer, Fulton County youth ages 12 to 16 have the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the Fulton County Marshal’s Department with the 2014 Junior Deputy Program. 

 

During the two-week session, to be held July 7 - 18, 2014, participating youth will learn about careers in law enforcement and criminal justice. They will also develop life skills and participate in physical fitness activities. The Junior Deputy program is designed to build superior character, develop mutual understanding, form leadership skills, promote good citizenship, and enhance personal and mental fitness. 

The Fulton County Marshal’s Department offers the Junior Deputy Program at no charge to participants.  Space is limited.  The 2014 application deadline is Friday, June 6. 

In order to be considered, applicants must:
• be between the ages of 12 and 16;
• attend a school in Fulton County, be a resident of Fulton County or have a family member who is an employee of Fulton County;
• complete a one-page essay (details on application);
• submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or school administrator at the school they attend;
• be of good moral character with no arrest or conviction records for serious offenses, including crimes specifically applied to juveniles (any criminal arrest or detainment may be grounds for rejection of the applicant);
