Fulton County Board of Commissioners Approves New Public Hearing Schedule on 2014 Millage Rate | Print |

Citizens will have opportunity to provide input at three additional public hearings regarding the 2014 Fulton County Millage Rate. At its July 16th, Recess Meeting, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved a new public hearing schedule on the 2014 Millage Rate.

 

Public hearings will be held on the following dates:
• Wednesday, July 30 at 10 a.m.
• Wednesday, July 30 at 6 p.m.
• Wednesday, August 6 at 10 a.m.

All public hearings will take place at the Fulton County Government Center, Assembly Hall, 141 Pryor Street, SW, Atlanta, GA 30303.  The public may also participate via videoconferencing from the South Fulton Service Center, 5600 Stonewall Tell Road, College Park 30349, and the North Fulton Service Center, 7741 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, 30350.
On Wednesday, June 18, 2014, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners voted to propose a 2014 General Fund millage rate of 11.781 mills and a Bond Fund millage rate of 0.27 mills.  The proposed South Fulton Tax District millage rate is 12.469 mills; this rate remains the same as the 2013 rate and affects properties in unincorporated Fulton County. Fulton County’s current General Fund millage rate is 10.211 mills.  The proposed 2014 rate would be the first increase to Fulton County’s General Fund Millage Rate since 1991.
To date, the Board of Commissioners has held three public hearings to give citizens an opportunity to provide input on the proposed millage rate increase:
•         Wednesday, July 9, 2014, 10 a.m.
•         Wednesday, July 9, 2014, 6 p.m.
