Fulton County Schedules Additional Public Meetings for Public Input on the Consolidated Planning Document and Annual Action Plan | Print |

Fulton County has added four additional public meetings to allow more public input into the process of planning and preparing its 5-year Consolidated Planning Document to determine the needs of the community in developing viable urban communities.

The plan provides decent housing, a suitable living environment and expanded economic opportunities principally for low and moderate- income persons.
The Consolidated Planning Process uses Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), and Emergency Solution Grant (ESG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The final Consolidated Plan document will describe the County's plan to pursue the goals for all community planning and development programs serving Fulton County communities outside of the City of Atlanta, Roswell and Sandy Springs utilizing these federal grant dollars from HUD.

The County wants public input in order to achieve the prioritization of the needs and goals by using approved processes for public input. Citizen comments are needed to help determine these priorities for Fulton County over the next five years. Some of the topics for discussion may include but are not limited to:

• Decent housing to include assisting homeless persons to obtain appropriate housing
• Retention of the affordable housing stock
• Increasing the availability of permanent housing in standard condition and at an affordable cost to low income families without discrimination
• Increasing access to quality public and private facilities and services
• Revitalization of deteriorating neighborhoods
• Expanding economic opportunities including job creation and retention
• Establish, stabilize and expand small business
• Mortgage financing using nondiscriminatory lending practices
• Fair Housing
