Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has appointed Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. to the McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority.

The McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority was established by the State and is recognized by the Secretary of Defense as the entity responsible for developing and implementing approved redevelopment plans for the former Fort McPherson.  The purpose of the Authority is to direct the redevelopment of the 488-acre site and to create jobs and promote economic development.

“I am grateful for Governor Deal’s support in naming me to the McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority,” said Commissioner Arrington. “We have a real opportunity to create a lasting economic resource right here in Fulton County. I look forward to working with my fellow members of the Authority Board to tackle the redevelopment initiative.”

Commissioner Arrington represents Fulton County District 5, which includes the Fort McPherson property.  He is a practicing attorney and a member of numerous Boards and organizations, and is a champion of homeowner rights.  Arrington is a longtime resident of Fulton County who resides in unincorporated Fulton County with his wife Kristen and their four daughters.
