Vice Chairman Hausmann was joined by County Manager Dick Anderson and Chief Operating Officer Todd Long. The presentation follows a decision on December 16, 2015 to allocate $500,000 in funding for the project.

Fulton County joins with the North Fulton Community Improvement District, the City of Alpharetta, the State Road and Tollway Authority, and the Georgia Department of Transportation; total funding for the project is $5.7 million. Right of way acquisition will begin in 2016. It is expected that the project will be let in 2017.

“I am pleased that Fulton County is able to be a partner in this important initiative to help improve access to jobs in North Fulton. Thousands of residents will benefit directly from this investment, which represents an exemplary partnership among private and public partners and multiple layers of government,” said Vice Chairman Liz Hausmann.

During the same meeting, the Board of Commissioners approved a plan to expand the footprint of the North Fulton Community Improvement District. The CID, which was founded in 2003, is a self-taxing district that spans from Mansell Road north to McGinnis Ferry Road. Funds collected by commercial property owners in the footprint of the CID are invested in improvements including transportation improvements, landscaping and more.
