"It truly was an honor to address the students who have worked so hard and achieved great success during their years in high school. They are not only stellar academically but also contribute to the community in so many ways. I wish the young men and women I met all the best as they open the next chapter of their lives and take on new challenges. You make Fulton County proud!"

“Fulton County has some of the brightest students in the state. I enjoyed having the opportunity to interact with them, and more importantly, to honor and reward them for all of their hard work and achievements. With their continued effort and dedication to academic success, these scholars will go on to be our next generation of community leaders,” said Vice Chairman Liz Hausmann.

Other event sponsors and supporters included the Fulton County Department of Aging & Youth Services, brought together students throughout Fulton County who lead their graduating classes.

Students, families and guests had the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look as the Zoo Atlanta gorillas enjoyed their dinner. Students also learned about careers at Zoo Atlanta through presentations by Cary Burgess, Zoo Atlanta’s Senior Vice President for Operations, Guests Services and from Dr. Joseph Mendelson, Director of Research at Zoo Atlanta

In addition, a number of scholarships were presented, including the Comcast Leaders & Achievers scholarships as well as scholarships from the T.W.D. Foundation and the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame.
