Youth Introduced to Current & Emerging Opportunities in Business and Technology during Conference Hosted by Commissioner Joan P. Garner | Print |

Nearly 200 young people attending the Thursday, November 10, 2016 Careers – Entrepreneurship and Opportunities Conference (C.E.O.s) were exposed to future career opportunities in current and emerging technologies. The students were from Atlanta and Fulton County public and private schools as well as non-profit and faith-based organizations.

The conference was sponsored by Commissioner Joan P. Garner, District 4, and the Fulton County Aging and Youth Services Department with the support of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.

The youth, ages 13 – 18, listened to representatives from the Small Business Administration, an intellectual and property rights attorney, a social media entrepreneur, a gaming developer, an expert in Coding, HTML and software developer and other leaders involved in current and emerging careers.   Additionally, they learned how to protect their ideas and inventions and received firsthand information on how to succeed in the music industry. During the afternoon session, students listened and asked questions during a panel discussion featuring a diverse group of executives and business owners regarding their career and entrepreneurship choices.

The C.E.O.s (Careers, Entrepreneurship and Opportunities) Conference was designed to inspire youth to explore the many options the world has to offer.   Students were able to interact with experts in their desired fields.
