Tom Lowe Atlanta Fulton County Water Treatment Plant


The Tom Lowe Atlanta-Fulton County Water Treatment Plant has been operational since 1991. It is jointly owned by the City of Atlanta and Fulton County; continuously operated and maintained by Veolia North America (VNA) and Khafra Engineering Consultants (KEC) in a park-like residential setting. Chattahoochee River is the source of the water being treated at TL-WTP.

Serving 350,000 in ever-growing North Fulton County, the plant has received many awards and recognition from U.S. EPA, Georgia EPD, Georgia Association of Water Professionals, Georgia Department of Labor, Fulton County Board of Commissioners, and AWWA Director’s and President’s Awards for compliance and safety. The facility has received multiple safety awards and is proud of the 16 years with no recordable or lost time accidents. Operationally, there have been no compliance violations in the 25 years since opening.

In addition to operating and maintaining the facility, the staff gives guided tours to schools and organizations. Striving to improve operations, the Tom Lowe - Atlanta-Fulton County Water Treatment Plant continually maintains communication with City of Atlanta and Fulton County distribution personnel.
