North Fulton County Voters Can Vote Absentee by Mail for January 6th Special Election | Print |

Some North Fulton County voters may prefer to vote absentee by mail for State House District 50. To request an absentee ballot, registered voters may fax or mail a written request for an absentee ballot. Voters can vote absentee by mail for any reason. Citizens can request an absentee ballot through Friday, January 2, 2015. Election Day is Tuesday, January 6, 2014. Requests for absentee ballots may be submitted now.

Absentee VOTE BY MAIL

Eligible voters (meaning registered voters) desiring to vote by mail may do so WITHOUT PROVIDING A REASON OR IDENTIFICATION  IF THEY MAIL IN THEIR APPLICATION FOR A BALLOT. However, this does not apply to voters who registered for the first time in Georgia by mail and did not provide ID with their registration application. First time voters must present one of the six acceptable forms of identification or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other governmental document that shows the name and address of the voter.

How to make an Absentee Request

Voters may mail or fax a written request for an absentee ballot. The written request should include the name and date of the election (such as, January 6, 2015 Special Election), the voter's name and address as registered, date of birth, address where the ballot is to be mailed, a daytime phone number, and the voter's signature are required.

Voters may call the main Fulton County Registration and Elections Office at 404-730-7072 to have an application sent to them for completion. The absentee ballot request should be mailed to: Fulton County Voter Registration, Attn: Absentee Ballot, 130 Peachtree St., SW, Suite 2186, Atlanta, GA 30303. It can be fax number is 404-730-8839. The last day that Fulton County Registration and Elections will mail out an Absentee Ballot is Friday, January 2, 2015.

Applications for absentee ballots are also available on the County's website at www.fultonelections.com. Users should click on "Voting Information" and "Voting by Mail" to access the application.

Completed ballots must be signed and sealed in the white and yellow envelopes provided and received by Fulton County Registration and Elections by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, January 6, 2015.
