Following the orientation, volunteers spread out across College Park checking known locations where Homeless citizens often congregate in the evenings. Locations visited included secluded areas behind and around businesses and vacant retail locations.

Portions of the count focused on single women with children, youth, and other unsheltered homeless who sleeping in outdoor locations such as sidewalks, parks, encampments and under bridges. The Point in Time (PI) Count also included all of the sheltered homeless, who stay in emergency shelters and transitional housing programs. PIT volunteers gathered at North Fulton Community Charities in Roswell, the Lift CDC in College Park on Old National and the Fairburn Travel Center in Fairburn.
