Fulton County Registration and Elections Release Statement Concerning House District 55 Special Election Disqualification | Print |

The Secretary of State adopted the ruling of an administrative law judge finding that State House District 55 candidate, Tyrone Brooks, Jr., fails to meet candidate qualifications for the June 16, 2015 State House District 55 special election. Therefore, all votes for this candidate that have been cast are null and void. With the aid of Kennesaw State University’s Center for Election Systems, Fulton County’s Department of Registration and Elections has eliminated the candidate’s name from the database for tabulating results.

Insufficient time is available to reprogram and reprint ballots; therefore, Fulton County’s Department of Registration and Elections is going to place prominent notices in all affected polling places to advise voters of the disqualification and to inform voters that if they cast a vote for him it will go uncounted.

Twenty-two (22) voting precincts in House District 55 will be open from 7:00am – 7:00pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.
