Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture Announces 2016 Funding Deadline | Print |

Each year, Fulton County invests in non-profit organizations to ensure that Fulton County citizens enjoy a wide array of rich arts experiences. The Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture (FCAC) announces funding ranging from $2,000 to $75,000 for Fulton County based arts, cultural and community based non-profit organizations and artist collectives for the 2016 funding cycle.

Eligible groups are encouraged to apply for these service contracts which are designed to support activities taking place between January 1 through December 31, 2016 that addresses the Fulton County Arts & Culture program mission to provide access, participation and appreciation of the arts for all Fulton County residents.

Improvements were made to Contracts for Services guidelines and applications to address the core strategies presented in the three year Fulton County Government strategic plan and to simplify the application process.   Several funding categories were consolidated or eliminated to provide better clarity and to assist with application streamlining. The new categories include:

•  Operational Support Funds
•  Project Support Funds
•  Small & Emerging Arts Organization Grants
•  Neighborhood Arts Program Grants Small Art Project Grants (SAPG)

To continue the redevelopment of the Contracts for Services Guidelines, the program will feature a Multi-year Funding option with an abbreviated application process.   The funding option will feature an abbreviated application process that will minimize the number of attachments and supporting materials required to apply for funding support in 2017. Funding amounts are based upon the final approved FCAC 2017 budget.

The FCAC team will conduct application process workshops which are free and open to the public. Advanced registration is required. First time applicants are required to attend one workshop or consult with the FCAC staff prior to submitting an application. Check the website, www.fultonarts.org   for dates and locations.

The Fulton County Arts & Culture (FCAC) is a cultural leader in Fulton County and one of the largest funders of the arts in the State of Georgia. The FCAC assists the Fulton County Commission in the development of public policy on public support for the arts industry, makes recommendations to Fulton County Commissioners on funding the arts and oversees the development and implementation of publicly assisted programs that address the diverse cultural needs of Fulton County's citizenry. Through the work of five community arts centers, contracts for services art funding, and arts education programs, the FCAC strives to better the lives of Fulton County residents.
