Voters casting absentee ballots by mail in the 6th Congressional/32nd State Senate and the City of Johns Creek Special Elections on April 18, 2017 are advised that an absentee ballot application must be submitted for each of the elections below, as well as, an indication made on the application as to which election or runoff for which the absentee ballot is being requested.

Several concurrent elections will be held to fill vacant seats at the federal, state and local levels in North Fulton County. Eligible registered voters will be casting ballots for the following seats:

•                         6th Congressional/32nd State Senate District Special Elections (same ballot)

•                         City of Johns Creek City Council Post 4 Special Election (separate ballot)

•                         City of Roswell City Council Post 4 Special Runoff Election (separate ballot)

“For voters choosing to vote absentee, it is important for them to make sure they complete and submit a separate absentee ballot application for each election for which they are eligible to participate,” states Richard Barron, Director of Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections. “With four special elections occurring at the same time, we felt it important to promote the steps for completing and submitting absentee ballots to ensure proper processing.”

  • Step 1                       Verify your voter eligibility and poll location by visiting www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.
  • Step 2                         If voting Absentee, make sure you request the application by calling the Voter Registration Office at (404-612-3816alt) or download the proper number of absentee applications for each Special Election you are eligible to vote (www.fultonelections.com). Make sure to submit the ballot by mail by the deadline on April 14, 2017, or hand-deliver your ballot at the Voter Registration Office, 7741 Roswell Road, Room 232, Sandy Springs, GA 30350 no later than 7:00 PM on April 18, 2017.
  • Step 3                 For in-person voting, make sure you receive the proper ballot or ballots before casting your ballot. Ask for clarification from the staff. Because of separate ballots, you may have to cast your ballots at different voting machines.
